Women, Business and the Law: Why Workplace Matters for Working Women Wednesday, June 17, 2020 1:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time - 2:00:00 PM Coordinated Universal Time
From the basics of freedom of movement to the challenges of working, parenting, and retiring, this series highlights how in many countries, the law restricts women’s economic opportunities and in turn hinders economic growth. Join the Women, Business and the Law team as they take you through the life cycle of a woman who encounters discriminatory laws at every stage of her career. This session will provide an in-depth look at the Workplace indicator, which analyzes laws that affect women’s decision to enter and remain in the labor force. The legal environment can have significant effects on a woman’s job prospects, earning potential, and career growth, and can incentivize or hinder her economic activity. The presentation will include further explanation of the legal and economic rationale behind the indicator, as well as global findings and recent reforms. Speakers
